Vehicle and Engineer Technology
Vehicle and Equipment Technology Department
Technical matters relating to single- and multi-track vehicles, with and without motorised propulsion, for road and off-road use; automotive engineering matters relating to armoured combat and battle vehicles; and the conduct of tests and trials on vehicles.
Engineering Department
An assault and shallow-water boat of the Engineering Corps.
Matters relating to bridge construction, steel construction and structural analysis; technical matters concerning means of transport for engineering bridge-laying equipment and the fire behaviour of building materials and components; technical matters relating to shipbuilding and military watercraft.
Department of CBRN Matters and Environmental Protection Technology
Technical matters relating to CBRN defence and environmental protection; detection and identification of nuclear, biological and chemical warfare agents as well as civilian pollutants; carrying out nationwide sampling and mobile NBC investigations; participation in international research projects.
Electrical Engineering and Optronics
Department of Electrical Engineering
Technical systems on a 'Husar' vehicle.
Deals with electrical and electronic equipment, medical-technical systems and their application in the defence sector; matters relating to medical radiation protection, electrical power supply and electromagnetic compatibility.
Simulation and Training Equipment Technology Department
Technical matters relating to simulators, combat simulations, training equipment and facilities; technical matters relating to firing range equipment, including electrical safety.
Optronics and Physical Measurement Technology Department
Technical matters relating to optical targeting, aiming and reconnaissance equipment, and general physical measurement technology.
Central Technical Product Documentation
Material Cataloguing and Coding Department
Recording and managing material master data, which enables the unambiguous classification, identification and naming of a supply item and the associated allocation of a supply number. This data forms the basis for effective and efficient logistics management.
Central Design Department
Production of design drawings in two- and three-dimensional formats as a basis for modifications or conversions and for training on equipment.
Technical Specifications Department
Production of up-to-date, error-free technical documentation that reflects the current configuration status for the end-user.
Personnel and Materials Management
Central Services Department
Carrying out central management, coordination, support, cross-functional and security tasks; matters relating to the provision of personnel and material resources to ensure the Office fulfils its remit.
Apprenticeship Training
The Office for Armaments and Defence Technology continuously trains apprentices. The departments of the Office for Armaments and Defence Technology also train apprentices in both technical and non-technical trades within their respective areas of responsibility:
