Helga Dickow has 20 years of research experience in ethnic and religious conflicts in Central Africa and Southern Africa, specializing in the political role of Churches and religion. She is a senior researcher at the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute in Freiburg. She also worked for the German Cooperation (gtz) in Chad, within the framework of an educational project. Dickow is Head of Department at the Diakonisches Werk of the Protestant Church in Germany located in Stuttgart and is responsible for resettlement programs of refugees. She holds an MA in History and a PhD in political science from the Albert-Ludwig-Universität, Freiburg, Germany.
