Thomas Preindl has been working for Caritas Austria and the international Caritas network for over ten years. He has been mainly involved in emergency relief and disaster response in humanitarian crisis situations. He has undertaken his work mainly in Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan) but also in different countries in South-East Europe (Kosovo, Albania, Romania). He holds a degree in agriculture from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna/Austria and is specialized in livelihood protection and food security issues. Since 2005, Thomas Preindl is based at Caritas Austria headquarters in Vienna with a focus on livelihood programmes in Sudan. He has given a number of training courses within the Caritas network regarding project design and management and emergency relief interventions.
