Jarat Chopra is research associate and lecturer in international law at the Thomas J. Watson Jr. Institute for International Studies at Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island).
He is also director of the institute's Project on Peace-Maintenance Operations. Besides his studies, Jarat Chopra visited numerous peacekeeping and other international operations in the field, in Somalia, El Salvador, Cambodia, Western Sahara, Nicaragua, Namibia and Sri Lanka as well as in the former Soviet Union.
Two books on Peace-Maintenance:
The Evolution of International Political Authority and
Elements of International Security are forthcoming, while his volume
The Politics of Peace-Maintenance was published in 1998.
His publications cover a wide range of topics related to international relations and peace-maintenance.
