Assistant Director General in the UN-section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway.
From 1988 to 2003 he was Political Counsellor at the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow. From March to October 2001 he served as Political Adviser to the Commander of Kosovo Forces (KFOR 5).
Previous postings abroad include the Ukraine and France. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he has also worked in the Department of Security Policy at the NATO Desk.
Studies of Political Science, Public Administration and the Russian language.
