Deputy Director of the Department for International Organisations at the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
From 1997 to 2000 he served as Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations in New York, after holding assignments at the Austrian Embassies in Damascus and New Delhi.
He is a graduate of the Diplomatic Academy Vienna (26th Promotion, 1989-1991) and received his Ph.D. (Dr.phil.) in History from the University of Graz.
