Erik Melander (*1969) holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Research, graduating from Uppsala University in 1999. Since 2006, he works as Associate Professor (Docent) at Uppsala University. Additionally, from that time on he acts as Deputy Director of the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (www.ucdp.uu.se). 2007 he was assigned Coordinator of the Kroc - the Uppsala Project on Peace Process Implementation Efforts (PRIME), a cooperation-project between the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame and the Department of Peace and Conflict Research of Uppsala University. His current main area of research is focussed on conflict prevention and peace processes. Recent articles of Prof. Melander were published in:
International Studies Quarterly, International Interactions, Journal of Peace Research, and others.
