Research Fellow in post-Soviet geopolitics of energy security in Eurasia and the Caspian Region at the Clingendael International Energy Programme (CIPE), Den Haag, The Netherlands;
and Research Fellow at the Amsterdam School for Social Science Research (ASSR), University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
He also teaches at the Webster University, Leiden, The Netherlands and,
at the International School for Humanities and Social Sciences (ISHSS), University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
His main fields of study are International Political Economy and Social History. His areas of study are Central Eurasia, the Caspian Region, the Middle East and Asia. His research interests include globalisation and regionalism/regional integration, geopolitics, politicised Islam and global energy security.
