Christopher Dandeker, B.Sc. (Soc.) Ph.D., is Professor of Military Sociology in the Department of War Studies at King's College London, and was Head of the Department of War Studies from 1997-2001. He is a Fellow of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society (IUS) and a member of its Council. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal Armed Forces and Society. In addition he is a Vice -President of the Research Committee, Armed Forces and Conflict Resolution of the International Sociological Association.
