Ritter von Lehmann

In 1866 Moritz Ritter von Lehmann averted a serious crisis for Austria’s Imperial Army by carrying out a counterattack at Oswiecim near Krakow. The bearer of the Knight’s Cross of the Military Order of Maria Theresa lent his name to a class at the Theresan Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt.

Narvik 1940

After the landings at Narvik and Bjerkvik, Norway, in the course of "Operation Weserübung” on 9 April 1940 and the ensuing naval battles, the battle for northern Norway started on 15 April 1940.

The battle for Narvik lasted more than 60 days, from 9 April to 8 June 1940. The fighting took place at the worst conceivable time of the year, i.e. during the transition from winter to spring, and in a mountainous terrain that, even in the summertime, offers some tough climatic challenges.

1991 Security Operation - the 53rd Militia Training Regiment at the Austro-Yugoslavian Border
